The annual cricket match between PD Ports and the port users returned for another successful year and saw the port users team conquer for a second successive year, by 125 runs to 52.
The trophy was handed over by PD Ports to the Port Users’ captain, Joe Melvin (see photo). Man of the match was Graypen’s Robert Munro, who scored an unbeaten 25 runs and took two wickets.
The match took place at Hutton Rudby Cricket ground on 21 July 2023 and brought together the Tees Valley’s shipping community.
The match was enjoyed by a large crowd of port users’ colleagues enjoying the barbeque and drinks.
The money raised on the day, as well as donations from PD Ports, THPUA and ICS is always donated to a local charity. This year it was PD Ports’ turn to decide which charity to donate the funds to, and they have chosen Zoe’s Place.
