As a result of recent unprecedented events and new challenges affecting the world today, the Tees and Hartlepool Port Users Association (THPUA) has issued a statement to illustrate its support of seafarers across the globe and the organisations that support them.

Maritime UK, the umbrella body for the maritime sector, celebrates the THPUA and leading North-East maritime businesses committing to shifting the dial on mental health provisions and gender equality across their organisations.

Teesside’s shipping community has lead the way in launching a new initiative to provide seafarers with Covid vaccinations.

The THPUA donated £1,000 to local charity the High Tide Foundation last week following an epic marathon run from one of the foundation’s trustees.

The THPUA donated £1,000 to local charity Teesside Family Foundation last month. To mark the occasion, the THPUA treasurer, Christian Melvin posed for a photo with Teesside Family Foundation’s giant mascot.

The THPUA visited Zoe’s Place in May to present a donation to the charity. A cheque for £1,000 was formerly presented by THPUA treasurer, Christian Melvin.

Teesside’s shipping industry has publicly acknowledged the importance of the region’s new Freeport status – both for the shipping sector and the wider region.
