Our Association members Phil Heseltine, Commercial Manager.

GAC Shipping (UK) Ltd and Helen Sykes, Managing Director, Recyc-Oil Ltd, recently took part in a charity Motor Cycle weekend event to raise money on behalf of the Air Ambulance Service.

200 riders were involved, the challenge being to complete the boundary of the area covered by the Great North Air Ambulance; approximately 500 miles hence the name Boundary 500.

The journey taking them across the north of England in a circular route; up to the Borders; across to the Lakes; and returning via Scarborough.
The first day was wonderful in glorious sunshine, the second day was more challenging, as it rained all day; as can be seen in Phil’s before and after photos.
Helen has taken part for the past 4 years and completed this year’s challenge in 12 hours as a pillion passenger, as her own bike was unfortunately out of action.
The final monies raised are still to be declared, this is the fifth such event and the Boundary 500 group has raised £270,000 in the past 4 years.
